Fri-Yay Cocktail - Peppermint Stick

 It's time to get into that holiday spirit. Take a break from binge shopping (unless its for one of our custom serving trays :) ) and sit back with a delicious Peppermint Stick. 

A Peppermint Stick Cocktail is a great way to kick off the last weekend before Christmas. Minty, refreshing and creamy a Peppermint Stick is the perfect companion for delicious Christmas cookies.

Ingredients for a Peppermint Stick  -

  • 1 1/2 oz. of white creme de cacao
  • 1 oz. peppermint Schnapps
  • 1 ounce heavy cream
  • 1 Candy Cane
  • 1 handful of marshmellows

Preparing Peppermint Stick-

  1. Shake ingredients vigorously with ice and pour.
  2. add marshmellows and candy cane to taste
  3. Enjoy!

Try our deliciously berry take on a classic Tom Collins - The Raspberry Collins

 

Ingredients for Raspberry Collins  -

  • 2 ounces Gin
  • 1 oz. fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 ounce simple syrup
  • 3 oz. chilled club soda
  • lemon slice
  • raspberries
  • 3/4 oz creme de framboise
  • 3 oz raspberry puree

Preparing Raspberry Collins-

  1. Pour gin, lemon juice, simple syrup, creme de framboise, and raspberry puree in ice-filled collins glass.
  2. Top with club soda
  3. Stir gently.
  4. Garnish with lemon slice and raspberries!

Fri-Yay Cocktail - Tokyo Mary

We here at Shelby Dillon Studio are huge Bloody Mary fans, especially for a nice delicious Sunday Brunch and paired with a Mimosa :) . In a nod to our many years spent living abroad in Southeast Asia, where spice is a way of life, here is our recipe for the 'Tokyo Mary' a spicier variant on a traditional Bloody Mary

 

Ingredients for Tokyo Mary  -

  • 1/4 teaspoon fresh grated ginger
  • Lime Wedge
  • Seasoned Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon wasabi (horseradish can work as well) 
  • 1/2 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 4 dashes soy sauce
  • 1/2 oz fresh lemon juice
  • Pinch of freshly cracked pepper (our favorite is from Phu Quoc)
  • 2 oz pepper flavored vodka
  • 3 oz chilled tomato juice
  • Tabasco bean
  • 1 Dill Pickle Spear
  • 3 Blue Cheese stuffed Olives

Preparing Tokyo Mary-

  1. Rub rim of highball glass with lime wedge. coat rim of glass in seasoned salt.
  2. Combine ginger, wasabi, garlic, soy sauce, lemon juice, and pepper in bottom of glass.
  3. Fill with ice.
  4. Add vodka.
  5. Add tomato juice.
  6. Stir.
  7. Squeeze remaining lime juice over top of drink.
  8. Add Tabasco bean, pickle spear, and olives to garnish.
  9. Enjoy!

Are you ready to punch up your next holiday party?! This amazing Autumn Punch recipe is perfect for those gatherings. Simple to make, yet unique and delicious. Give this punch a try, it will knock your socks off! (Okay I'm going to limit my puns to two this week, don't want to punch above my weight...doh).

 

Ingredients for Autumn Punch (Serves 18 6-ounce drinks) -

  • 1 750 ml bottle of dry red wine
  • 2 750 ml bottles of dry white wine
  • 3 oz sweet vermouth
  • 1 cup applejack
  • 1 cup citrus vodka
  • 1 cup cranberry juice
  • 2 oz simple syrup
  • 1 large block of ice
  • 1 orange, sliced
  • 1 lemon, sliced

Preparing Autumn Punch-

  1. Combine liquid ingredients into punch bowl.
  2. Stir well.
  3. Refrigerate for 4 hours minimum.
  4. Place ice in bowl prior to serving.
  5. float lemons and oranges on top of the punch
  6. Enjoy!

This Friday we are going to encourage everyone to take a deep breath in their thanksgiving day preparations, snuggle up on the couch, and mix yourself a Hot Chocolate Stinger or two.

Ingredients for a Hot Chocolate Stinger-

  • 1 oz of dark creme de cacao
  • 0.5 oz peppermint schnapps
  • 2 oz hot chocolate
  • 3 oz hot coffee
  • whipped cream
  • cinnamon sticks

Preparing a Hot Chocolate Stinger -

  1. Pour the creme de cacao and the scnapps into the glass.
  2. Add hot chocolate.
  3. Add coffee.
  4. Gently stir.
  5. Garnish with shaved cinnamon powder and/or a cinnamon stick
  6. Enjoy!
